If it doesn’t exist, make it yourself.
Barbara Riordan, designer at the brand Pariah, has never known it any other way. Growing up on a farm in the 60’s and 70’s but being aware of a bigger fashion world through classic movies, old TV shows and magazines, Barbara blazed her own fashion trail by making her own clothes. Like any unconventional, her style wasn’t always accepted. But her desire to express herself through clothing couldn’t be swept away.
The name Pariah seemed like a natural choice. Not in the harshest sense of the word, but for a person who has the chutzpah to go against the expected. Pariah is for the man or woman who is telling their own story, whether it be farcical and comedic or subtly arresting.
Each piece is thoughtfully made in the USA. Most pieces are very limited edition, some requiring prep by hand in the Pariah studio. Each limited edition piece has a label on the inside indicated which piece in the series was purchased.
